Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z TriFold on Tuesday, marking its first smartphone that folds twice. This device, which has three cameras on the back, is set to be available for purchase in South Korea later this month. It comes with a 10.0-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen on the inside, and a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen on the outside. It runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, made using a 3nm technology, and includes 16GB of RAM and storage options that go up to 1TB. The price of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold has not yet been shared. Nevertheless, the company announced it plans to start selling this unique folding smartphone in South Korea on December 12. After that, it will also be sold in other countries like China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the US. The phone will only be available in a single color called Crafted Black.

The company mentioned that the new Galaxy Z TriFold will be found in certain physical stores in the countries listed, allowing customers to try out the phone. The price is likely to be revealed soon. The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold functions on Android 16 with OneUI 8 and is a dual SIM foldable phone. It features a 10-inch QXGA+ (2,160x1,584 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen on the inside, boasting a pixel density of 269ppi, a brightness of up to 1600nits, and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The inner display also offers full support for the DCI-P3 Colour Gamut. On the front, the phone has a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ (1,080x2,520 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a 21:9 ratio, pixel density of 422ppi, a peak brightness of 2,600nits, an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and 100 percent DCI-P3 color capability. The cover display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, while the back is made of Ceramic-Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer. It has an IP48 rating for resistance against dust and water.

The Galaxy Z TriFold includes a titanium hinge case along with high-quality armor aluminum. It comes with two hinges of different sizes and a dual-rail design, which is said to provide better stability and smooth openings. Samsung mentioned that the hinge lets the screens “connect securely with a small gap,” while keeping the device slim. The new Samsung phone is powered by Qualcomm's 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. For photography, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold has a triple rear camera system, featuring a 200-megapixel (f/1.7) main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12-megapixel (f/2.2) ultrawide camera that captures a 102-degree view, and a 10-megapixel (f/2.4) telephoto camera with OIS and the ability to zoom up to 30x. It also has two 10-megapixel (f/2.2) selfie cameras on both the outer and inner screens.

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is supported by a 5,600mAh battery that can charge quickly with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging. For connectivity, it includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB Type-C connection. The device has several built-in sensors, including a side fingerprint sensor for security, an accelerometer, a barometer, a gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, a hall sensor, a proximity sensor, and a light sensor. It measures 159.2x75.0x12.9mm when folded and 159.2x214.1x3.9mm when opened up. The weight of the phone is approximately 309g.
