Three juveniles from the New Hampshire are facing the charges of assault after police said they attacked, ripped off the mask and also yelled racial slurs at the Boston's "Keytar Bear" as he played music near the Faneuil Hall.
The musician, who is well known to play music and also collects various tips at popular spots in Boston, was attacked by the kids at around 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, said the Boston police.
Officers have been called to the area of Congress and State streets for the report of an assault. The "Keytar Bear" was surrounded by the group of young male juveniles, in what it appeared to be a fight.
The juveniles ran when an officer has approached in his cruiser with various lights and sirens on. Police said that the kids tried to escape by climbing up the scaffolding.
"The officer was directed by witnesses and bystanders as he pursued the suspects on Water Street toward Devonshire Street, where he ultimately observed three of the suspects climb up the building scaffolding then lay down on a platform in an attempt to hide from police. The officer ordered them from the scaffolding platform, and the suspects complied," Boston Police said in a press release.
The three juvenile males from the New Hampshire are accused for attacking the musician and also ripping off his mask. They have allegedly struck him several times and also yelled out racial slurs, said the police.
"When witnesses attempted to intervene the suspects, hurled racial epithets at them before fleeing from the police," said the authorities.
The musician has identified all the three of his attackers, said the police. The male juveniles were charged with the assault and battery, affray and also disorderly conduct. One of the male juveniles was also charged with being a minor in possession of the alcohol as a small bottle of vodka has been found in his pocket, said the police.
The Boston Police Civil Rights Unit is still continuing to investigate the case.
The "Keytar Bear" has also been attacked in the year 2014. Two people have been arrested in that attack.
