The findings reveal that over 57% of male corporate employees are experiencing vitamin B12 deficiency, which is vital for maintaining energy levels and cognitive function. This research examined data collected from approximately 4,400 individuals, comprised of 3,338 men and 1,059 women, all employed in urban office environments. Disturbingly, nearly half of the women surveyed also showed signs of deficiency. It’s fair to say that many individuals prioritize their careers above all else. With hectic schedules, irregular eating patterns, and elevated stress, corporate workers frequently neglect important nutritional needs until symptoms manifest. Insufficient dietary intake stands out as a key factor contributing to the increase in vitamin B12 deficiency in both genders. Moreover, dietitian Vidhi Chawla, founder of Fisico Diet and Aesthetic Clinic, emphasizes that since vitamin B12 is mainly derived from animal sources, vegetarians are especially at risk.

In addition, Dr. Archana Batra, a registered dietitian and diabetes educator, points out that lifestyle factors such as a high intake of processed foods, alcohol, and excessive caffeine can significantly impair the absorption of B12. Furthermore, the elevated stress levels faced by corporate workers lead to increased cortisol production, which diminishes the body’s B12 reserves.
