On Monday, the BCCI announced that the IPL season will recommence at six different venues starting May 17, with the championship match scheduled for June 3 according to the updated timetable. The league was paused on May 8 when the game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was interrupted due to an attempted incursion into Indian airspace near Chandigarh, which led to a power outage at the stadium. The opening matchup after the league’s revival is set to feature Royal Challengers Bengaluru facing off against Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru on May 17. The six locations designated for the league matches, based on the altered schedule, are Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai. Details regarding the venues for the playoff games will be revealed at a later time.

A total of 17 matches will be played across these six venues, and the updated schedule incorporates two double-headers occurring on consecutive Sundays. Currently, Gujarat Titans are in the lead for playoff qualification with 16 points and a net run-rate of 0.793. Royal Challengers Bengaluru also have 16 points; however, they hold a lower NRR of 0.482, placing them second. Punjab Kings are in third with 15 points, while Mumbai Indians round out the top four with 14 points. The match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, which was cut short in Dharamsala before evacuation, is set to be replayed in Jaipur on May 24 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Cricket Australia has expressed its support for its players' decisions regarding participation in the remainder of the IPL 2025 in India. "In light of the announcement regarding the IPL’s resumption on Saturday, Cricket Australia will back each player’s choice regarding their return to India. Team management will address the preparation requirements for the World Test Championship Final for those players opting to continue in the IPL. We are in ongoing discussions with the Australian Government and BCCI about safety protocols and security measures," CA stated in a Tuesday announcement. On Monday evening, the BCCI revealed a revised schedule for IPL 2025 that includes six venues for the remaining matches. Nonetheless, the board has yet to disclose locations for the playoffs and final, which were initially planned to take place in Hyderabad and Kolkata. Reports suggest that Mumbai might host the playoffs, with Ahmedabad as the site for the final.
