Google is offering Indian college students a complimentary upgrade to Gemini. In a new promotional deal, the tech company revealed that students who meet the criteria can receive a free one-year subscription to a Google AI Pro plan to support their studies. The company mentioned that students over 18 are utilizing Gemini for various purposes such as grasping difficult subjects, preparing for job interviews, and generating creative ideas. With the Gemini AI Pro plan, students will receive endless assistance with homework, exam preparation, and writing support. Just to summarize, the Gemini AI Pro is powered by Gemini 2.5 Pro, which is the most advanced AI model from the company so far. This plan provides access to sophisticated tools like Deep Research to aid personal research and allows five times higher limits in NotebookLM. Besides these research-oriented features, users will also have access to Gemini Live and the option to use the Veo 3 video creation model in both Gemini and Flow.

Similar to Google's AI plan for workspaces, Gemini AI Pro integrates Gemini into Google apps such as Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and others. The plan also comes with 2TB of cloud storage across various Google services, including Photos, Drive, and Gmail, among others. To take advantage of this new offer, go to “gemini.google/students/?gl=IN” using your preferred browser and click the blue ‘Get offer’ button.
When the page loads, press the ‘Verify eligibility’ button. Fill in your information, such as the name of your school or college, as well as your information and the email address provided by your institution. Alternatively, you may use your personal Gmail account. Next, click on the ‘Verify student status’ button at the bottom of the page, and Google will prompt you to log in via your school's or college’s online portal.

Here, you will need to upload your credentials and provide proof of enrollment, like your school or college ID, class timetable, and tuition bill. Once this is completed, the tech company will assess your documents to ensure they are valid. This review typically takes about thirty minutes. If you prefer not to upload anything right now, Google will automatically send an email to the address you provided with a link that takes you back to this page. Google will be offering Gemini AI Pro for free until September 15, so ensure you complete the form before the deadline.
