Honor Magic 8 Pro and Magic 8 were launched on Wednesday during the technology company’s event in October 2025. Shortly after the announcement, the firm revealed a new concept smartphone that will be included in its artificial intelligence device range. This new phone is named the Honor Robot Phone, and the Chinese company shared that it will blend robotics, photography, and multi-modal AI functions. It is set to be presented at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, featuring a pop-up AI camera equipped with a gimbal and a motor that can rotate. In a post on X, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer teased the Honor Robot Phone, highlighting an AI camera assistant that emerges from the back camera section. The launch of the phone is planned for the MWC 2026 event in Barcelona, Spain. The robot camera is displayed with a gimbal and a rotating motor. The company mentioned that it will include an "AI brain" while also providing "robot-like mobility" (translated from Chinese).

While introducing the Honor Robot Phone, the company described it as a “groundbreaking AI device” merging multi-modal intelligence, innovative robotics, and "next-gen imaging." Although the technical details of the upcoming device have not been shared yet, the video demonstrates the robot camera on the Honor Robot Phone giving details about a user's outfit, their environment, and even entertaining a baby. The movable AI camera seems to have a USB Type-C port, possibly to connect additional accessories. The phone features a hole-punch screen that likely holds the front-facing camera. The back of the device looks similar to Apple's new iPhone 17 series, with a glass cutout in the center and an unidentified metal frame around it. The phone may have a triple rear camera system that includes the pop-up AI camera. The Alpha symbol is located in the center of the back panel, which might be used on other items within Honor's AI ecosystem.

The left side of the phone appears to be left without buttons, while the power button and volume controls are likely situated on the right side. The robot camera of the Honor Robot Phone will remain concealed under a glass cover for protection.
