Australia Vs Sri Lanka: Australia won by 5 wickets (88 balls left).

Sri Lanka: 209 (43.3 overs); Australia: 215/5 (35.2 overs), held at Ekana International Stadium in Lucknow.

By beating Sri Lanka, the Australian team registered their first win in World Cup 2023. To keep their semi-final hopes alive, both the Australian team and Sri Lankan team were in desperate need of a win.

Australia dismissed Sri Lanka in 43.3 overs for 209 in their ICC World Cup match on Monday. Australia had overhauled the target in just 35.2 overs and finished the match by hitting a six. The match was briefly interrupted by rain, but nothing was changed.

Australian opener Mitchell Marsh scored 51 in 52 balls, then they had a loss of two quick wickets. But, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis finished the match with no pressure. Dinesh Madushanka was the star bowler of Sri Lanka, who picked up three wickets.

Sri Lankana openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera were good with their bat leaving 61 runs and 78 runs on board. Sri Lanks has suffered a collapse after openers have fallen. Australian bowler Adam Zampa took four wickets and restricted the score to 209.
