Due to many new players entering the market, there is a lot of excitement surrounding electric cars. Interestingly, the biggest car manufacturer in the country has been absent from this area. However, it has now revealed plans to introduce a new car on September 3, which we believe will be the Maruti Suzuki E Vitara. This fully electric SUV was first publicly displayed in the country at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. While the company has not confirmed that it is indeed the E Vitara, there are speculations that Maruti Suzuki might also be preparing to introduce a top-end SUV through its Arena sales channels. Regarding the Maruti Suzuki E Vitara, the company previously mentioned that the Escudo (the flagship Arena SUV) will be released later - the electric SUV is set to compete with vehicles like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, and others. The Indian version of the Suzuki E Vitara will feature two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh (similar to what is offered in the UK).

The smaller battery is expected to provide a WLTP range of 346 km, while the larger battery is estimated to give 428 km of range in its single-motor design. Meanwhile, the dual-motor version with the 61 kWh battery will have a range of 412 km. The new Suzuki E Vitara measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. To put this in perspective, it has a size comparable to the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, but with a longer wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The ground clearance is 180 mm when loaded. In terms of wheel tracks, the front is 1,540 mm wide, while the back is 5 mm wider. The variations for the E Vitara in the Indian market haven't been confirmed yet, but it is available in three trims abroad: Club, Comfort, and Comfort Plus.

Standard features include adaptive cruise control, a telescopic steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital display for instruments, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, ambient lighting, and keyless entry. The Comfort Plus model offers additional features such as 19-inch wheels, a power-adjustable driver's seat, a better sound system, wireless phone charging, fog lights, and a 360-degree camera system.
