The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series is believed to be in the works, serving as the next iteration following the Galaxy Watch 7 collection. As anticipation builds for its release later this year, it has allegedly appeared on a certification website, which suggests that Samsung may reintroduce its sought-after Galaxy Watch 'Classic' variant. The South Korean technology company did not include this option during the launch of the Galaxy Watch 7 last year, which was available in various sizes alongside a new Galaxy Watch model. However, the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 Classic might still make its debut. The device, identified by the model number SM-L505U, was first reported by XpertPick to have obtained Bluetooth SIG certification. While the listing does not provide additional information, it reinforces earlier speculation regarding Samsung's potential return of the 'Classic' edition to its premier smartwatch series this year.

Although there are no distinct feature differences between the standard and Classic Galaxy Watch versions, the latter remains favored by users. This popularity is chiefly due to the presence of a rotating physical bezel, which imparts a classic watch feel while maintaining the functionalities of a smartwatch. It is worth noting that the Galaxy Watch 7 series was released back in July of the previous year without a Classic or Pro variation. Instead, Samsung focused on the standard Galaxy Watch 7 in multiple sizes and introduced the Galaxy Watch Ultra, which was aimed as a rival to the Apple Watch Ultra.

This is not the first time the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic has been mentioned. Earlier, a smartwatch with the same model number was found in the GSMA database. Soon afterwards, it was reported that it received certification for its battery via the SafetyKorea website. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic (SM-L505U) appeared with the battery model number EB-BL505ABY. Further information is anticipated as the launch approaches. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, along with its standard counterpart, is expected to be unveiled later this year, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.
